Travel by Land Rover Defender 4x4 around Europe and Asia . English couple arrive in Malaysia and feel impressed with the country.

(Klang 31-10-2009) : An English couple on tour to various countries in 4 wheel drive arrived at Klang recently from where they will kick off with their know-more-about-Malaysia journey to many interesting places in the country. Within a short stay here, they are already greatly impressed with the local surroundings and the friendly people they have met.
Mr. Gary May (44----heavy truck driver) and his female companion (36---bank employee)started their Europe/Asia tour in their 4 wheel drive in June this year.
Setting off from England, they crossed France, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Greece, Pakistan, Turkey, India and several other countries. Malaysia is the 13th country they have visited so far before which they had already traveled 15 thousand kilometers.
According to Gary, they have planned to complete visiting 21 countries within 1 year at the estimate cost of 20 thousand English pounds. ‘ We spent 2 years to plan out this trip. Now our dream journey of driving around half the world has been realized’, said Gary.

To Cameron Highlands and Langkawi Island
Gary told that this is the first time they ever set foot on Malaysian soil and will spend 3 to 4 weeks here, going round visiting places including Cameron Highlands and Langkawi Island. They will move North to Thailand and Cambodia before returning to our country along the East Coast en route to Singapore and subsequently to Indonesia.
Gary added that their journey has been rather smooth so far except in Turkey where they met a minor motorcar accident as well as in Pakistan where they had to be escorted by armed security personnel in view of the current unstable security situation.

Klang style hair cut
Both the couple are impressed with our country, especially the people who are very friendly. They opined that Malaysia is much more peaceful and orderly if compared with many other countries.
They arrived at Klang on Wednesday and had not tried the popular Bah Kut Teh yet. But they have tasted satay and many other types of Malaysian food. Gary even had a hair cut here which he jokingly called ‘Klang style’ hair cut.

4 wheel drive complete with accessories
Gary explained that they are driving around in their 1997 model Land Rover 4 wheel drive, which is well equipped for even cooking purpose, almost like a small hotel.
Their whole journey covers Europe and Asia . When faced with difficult inland transport situation, they ship their vehicle to the next destination, just like from India to our country.
They feel that their journey this time has been very special and eye-opening since they had the chance to travel through so many countries and learn different cultures and about people of different backgrounds. They intend to share all their experiences with their friends via website http://www.getjeolous.com/110defender.

While in Klang, Gary put up stay at Klang Histana Hotel. Hotel manager Mr. V Han Ng became very curious when he noticed an England-registered car at the hotel carpark. He immediately contacted the couple to extend greeting and to know more about their adventure journey.
Mr. Ng V Han expressed his hope that the special guests from U. K. will share all their memorable experiences with their friends to help promote Malaysia as a tourist destination.
